Stagnation of Social life of Young people (Kaunas)

Nowadays, one of the main problems of young people in Lithuania is that they became apathetic and not showing initiatives, to lack socially and usually even physics.
In addition, Internet and social networks just have made more harm for creativity. As a result of all, youngsters became too much spoiled by information and just waiting for the result given by someone else, they forget to create, collaborate and even communicate.
Another reason why youngsters of Kaunas don’t take initiatives is that even though there is a load of information about the opportunities for young people, there is not enough visibility for some of the sources as well as no collaboration with educational consultations, In order to present this information to young people. When there are no goals to reach people loose they self team and motivation to go forward.

In order to faith this social passiveness young people have a suggestion to start from the schools and formal institutions where youngsters have more opportunities to have face to face contact with each other and bring the idea of after school collaboration as a „cool“ thing to do. In this case NGOs could act an active roll in it and help to create a collaborative active spirit of collaborating together. They would like to have more non formal lessons on Social and Civic skills. In this process is very important to include not just youngsters but also their parents and make them all aware about the benefits of voluntarism and how fun and relevant realization of your social ideas. Those lessons on social project making should be encouraged and obligatory in each of the school. For this reason they think that its needed the state help and support of youth NGOs. The cross-sectorial collaboration between the public sector and NGOs, among youth NGOs and schools is also needed.
