    Lack of youth participation (Iglesias)

Lack of youth participation and dialogue with institutions (Iglesias)

A problem that is felt by young people is the lack of involvement of young citizens in the decisions process of policy makers, the lack of community and youth centres  and difficulties found on the constitution of youth associations.
Moreover, in the Sulcis area (a southwestern region of Sardinia, Italy) there are many abandoned buildings, schools, and old offices that are not used anymore and that could be made available for the organization of cultural and youth events. These structures could represent a reduction of costs of maintenance.

Young people think that is necessary to build a dialogue among young citizens and municipalities and a best practice that can be taken into consideration is the constitution of Youth Councils and periodic consultation to understand the needs of the young community.
In order to give young people the tools to run an organization and implement projects it could be useful the organization of trainings about project management, fund raising, European mobility.
